Royal Society of Chemistry – publishing conditions 2024

The quota for OA publication under the transformative agreement has been depleted for 2024.

• Eligibility​
  • Responsible corresponding author affiliated to a b-on member institution with access to RSC ¹​.
  • Article type: no restrictions; ​Article accepted for publication on date between January 1^st to December 31^st 2024;​
• Publication route
  • Hybrid journals: up to 30 articles in 2024 in RSC’s hybrid journals;​
  • GOA Journals: not included in this agreement.

• How to benefit from OA conditions:​​
  1. The responsible corresponding author declares their institutional affiliation at submission;
  2. After accepting the article, the publisher notifies the author of the eligibility for open access publication under the b-on agreement;
  3. The responsible corresponding author follows the steps and choses the adequate publishing license to complete the publication process on the publisher’s platform².

² In cases where the eligibility cannot be approved, the authors have the choice to publish the article behind a paywall or in open access and covering the associated APC;
